Michael Whittaker is an Emmy nominated film composer and producer originally from Los Angeles, California. His background in film scoring as well as modern record production have made him a go to composer for both the scoring and licensing worlds. Currently, Michael teaches and conducts a bi annual film scoring seminar in Nashville, TN (filmscoreseminar.com), and is the co-founder of Reel Whitty Werks Music licensing catalog.
Michael has scored over 300 television episodes and TV movies including the popular Power Rangers. After working 6 years as staff composer for FOX television and ABC family Michael has moved on to score and produce for companies like Disney, Warner Bros, NBC and Lions Gate Films. In 2011 his theme was chosen as the main theme of the new Disney Family Movies channel.
His numerous awards include an Emmy nomination, a Telly award for his score to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, Bank of America Musical Achievement award, International Association of Jazz Educators player excellence award, and the Clarence Brown Memorial scholarship for jazz.
